How often do we really sit and think of how Music plays an important role in our lives?? Well I was thinking about this as a certian song was playing on the radio coming home tonight after my class at Paper Pals and realized that Wow how true is this song of my past. The song was
"A Different World" by Bucky Covington who was on American Idol.
The Lyrics go like this:
We were born to mothers who smoked and drank
Our cribs were covered in lead based paint
No child proof lids no seat belts in cars
Rode bikes with no helmets and still
here we are, still here we are
We got daddy's belt when we misbehaved
Had three TV channels you got up to change
No video games and no satellite
All we had were friends and they were
outside, playin' outside
Our cribs were covered in lead based paint
No child proof lids no seat belts in cars
Rode bikes with no helmets and still
here we are, still here we are
We got daddy's belt when we misbehaved
Had three TV channels you got up to change
No video games and no satellite
All we had were friends and they were
outside, playin' outside
[ Chorus ]
It was a different life
When we were boys and girls
Not just a different timeIt was a different world
School always started the same every day
The pledge of allegiance then someone would pray
Not every kid made the team when they tried
We got disappointed and that was allright, we turned out all right
It was a different life
When we were boys and girls
Not just a different timeIt was a different world
School always started the same every day
The pledge of allegiance then someone would pray
Not every kid made the team when they tried
We got disappointed and that was allright, we turned out all right
[ Chorus ]
Bridge
No bottled water, we drank from a garden hose
And every Sunday, all the stores were closed
No bottled water, we drank from a garden hose
And every Sunday, all the stores were closed
[ Chorus ]

It was a different world

But as I look at these lyric's, its so true and as I get older, I still listen to all the music I did when I was young.
My first Concert was New Kids on the Block, and I must admit I still own a CD of them!! But I have gained interest in many others as well. It just shows how much our times have changed for sure. I am one that listens to lyrics and really get into the songs. I was raised on Country Music and still love it... As a matter of fact, I tell everyone that ONE day Kenny Chesney will be my husband... He just doesn't know it yet!! Oh man, I wouldn't kick him out of my bed for eating crackers!! hahahaha I kind of got out of the classic country music untill Ben I and got together, now I own lots of it again. And it drives my sister crazy... Hey thats at Patsy Cline song.. Crazy - LOVE that song!!! Garth Brooks, Tim McGraw (oh baby!!), Keith Urban, Reba McEntire, George Strait, and Terri Clark are on the top of my list. I wish I could look like Terri Clark, shes a beautiful woman!!!

Anyway, I feel Music plays a big part in our lives and I take alot to heart and alot of it has been apart of either how I have grown up, or living my life. So take a minute when listening to music (the stuff you can hear the words to) and just realize what its telling you and how you can use it in your life or see how you can relate to it.
Hugs to All...

Hey now...you know Tim McGraw is already spoken for (by me)...besides do you want Faith to yell at you? I already told you about the last sistah that got to close!!!
You are very right about music though, it plays a huge role in our lives and often to speaks to each of us in its own way!!! I think I will listen a bit more closely today!
No its not Tim I want, its Kenny!!! and I saw that clip on the news. I wouldn't want Faith to yell at me like she did!!!
hehehehe!!
I love those lyrics. What a great song. I thing it would make a great layout!

You are so right - music plays a massive part in our lives. I don't think anything can bring back memories like a song. Remember listening to the Grease soundtrack - on your RECORD PLAYER? Or how about "Queen of my Doublewide Trailer" being dedicated to me on the radio. So many songs to remember growing up by!
